Hi, and welcome to a brief page about me.
Yesterday I signed up to participate in National Novel Writing Month, during which I will try to write a novel in 30 days, with a minimum word count of 50,000 words.
And good luck to me on that!
I’m an American artist who lives in Bogotá, Colombia, with two dogs. I specialize in fine art photography and, while I still have a traditional darkroom, I am also working in digital, especially for color prints. Now I wish I’d learned to print color in a darkroom, but I think my work painting (oils and acrylics) and drawing (pastels) help me understand some of the subtleties involved. Oh yes, I have a B.F.A. in Studio Art from Michigan State University, and lack 12 cr. for a B.A. in Art History. What turned me off to pursuing any Masters’ degree in these fields is the “art-by-committee” approach and the fact that Spanish was NOT required (nor even desired) for a specialization in Latin American art.
At any rate, I write. I have this blog, I will participate in a novel writing contest, I have one novel published (in 1982), one recently finished and the draft(s) for another one. For those who like their women to show even a tiny bit of modesty and restraint, you may want to read elsewhere. I can be very charming, and usually polite. But when I do something really well, I’m not the one to keep her mouth shut.
Having said all that, those who read my blogs should feel free to post comments.
